Even though this date has passed, there is never a better time than now to pray over human trafficking. At Be the Light, we believe that prayer is the most powerful tool we have.
Suggestions of what to pray for: rescue, comfort, healing and restorating to victims and survivors, wisdom and safet for caregivers, LEOs and advocacy/outreach groups, awarness and empathy from the public and those who may come into contact with victims and for the hearts and minds of traffickers to be turned from wickedness to good, that every lost and broken child of God feel his light in the dark.
Several families gathered at Veterans Park in Lehigh Acres at the end of January for the Slave Free Southwest Florida event hosted by the Southwest Florida Regional Trafficking Coalition.
Be the Light was one of a handful of organizations there helping educate the community of the realities of slavery today.
The BTL abolitionists that attended were able to connect with a large number of attendees, increasing their knowledge of the local human trafficking taking place. Along with increasing the awareness, we were also able to gain an additional 30+ BTL abolitionists to join the fight.
Be the Light volunteer abolitionists came together to hold our annual gift drive to benefit child survivors of human trafficking at Wings of Shelter.
The gifts are given to survivors with a message of love, hope and self worth.
We are honored to be able to provide them with a Christmas of abundance during the midst of their rehabilitation.
Be the Light joined thousands of abolitionists with the A21 Campaign in raising human trafficking awareness.
This year's evet was extra special thanks to a survivor who was able to walk with us.
Her response after the event: "This is the first time I've felt like a survivor and not just a victim."
